PATRIOTIC COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING
September 16, 2009
Chairperson Margaret Byrnes called the regular meeting of the Patriotic Commission to order at 7:20 p.m. in the 2nd floor conference room of the Town Hall, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
PRESENT: Margaret Byrnes, Paul Barry, Patricia Begley, Richard Begley, Mike Brinius, Victoria Brinius, Linda Carrasquillo, Charles Clarke, Bernard Corona,Vincent Parys, Melodie Wilson.
ABSENT:
EXCUSED: Albert Doak, Susan Tukey
ALSO PRESENT: Robin Parys, Clerk.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
MOTION:
CORRESPONDENCE: Chairperson Margaret Byrnes informed the Commission that she has received the application of participation for the 2009 Veteran’s Day Parade to be held on Sunday, November 8th @ 1:00 p.m. A motion was made by Commissioner Mike Brinius for the participation of the Commission, 2nd by Commissioner Patricia Begley. Motion passed.
BILLS: Motion made by Commissioner Charles Clarke to pay the clerk for the September meeting. 2nd by Commissioner Mike Brinius. Motion passed.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Tabled until next meeting.
OLD BUSINESS: Commissioner Patricia Begley will place the 2009 Flag Day Essays in the papers.
NEW BUSINESS: 2009 Holiday Fest, December 4,5,6,7. Commissioner Patricia Begley made a motion for the Commission to pick up the food stuffs. 2nd by Commissioner Charles Clarke. Motion passed. Discussion regarding the placement of the flag placement (November 7th) for Veteran,s Day. Newspaper requests for volunteers to assist in the placement to go out to the newspapers and Channel 5 to go out 2 weeks and 1 week prior to Veteran’s Day.
Miscellaneous:
Chairperson Peg Byrnes to research the disposal of old flags.

Commissioner Vincent Parys made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Commissioner Victoria Brinius seconded. Meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
